PTP Professional Tax Archive is a searchable database, drawing
on cumulative editions of the Professional
Tax Update (PTU) released each month. As such, the update
available from this page will be renewed monthly. An e-mail will be
sent to subscribers with a link to this site to make the update
procedure as easy as possible.
Please note the installations available from this page are for
subscribers only and a password supplied to those that have
purchased will need to be entered during the installation.

There are three versions of the installation program available
for download. To run the installation click the appropriate link
below and select Run. (Please note this may be labelled Open in
earlier versions of Windows.) If you do not have a broadband
internet connection you may prefer to download the file and install
it from your local drive by following the notes below.
How to download and install
- The installation files that you can download here are
executables.
- Download the file and save it onto disk preferably on your hard
disk somewhere, or in a Network system on a network drive.
- Locate the download through Windows Explorer and double click
to run the file, select Setup, the update will then automatically
install.
Installs full package, select this option if you have purchased
a licence and are installing for the first time (i.e. you have not
installed a demonstration of the program). During the installation
you will be asked to enter a password supplied with your invoice.
Please note you will be receiving update links to this website
monthly via e-mail. This option is currently for Windows 2000, XP
or Vista machines only. If you have any other operating system
please contact our support team on 0844 815 5530 option 2.
Installs an upgrade to the demonstration program to make it a
fully working copy. During the installation you will be asked to
enter a password supplied with your invoice. Please note you will
be receiving update links to this website monthly via e-mail.
During the installation of the upgrade it is possible that you
may experience a problem due to missing system files. Click here to
run a fix that will install the missing files.
Installs the latest monthly update (including the previous 2
months), select this option if you are a licensed user and are just
updating to the current version.
Network users
PTP Professional Tax Archive is a server-based application. You
must therefore install it on a network server in the same way as
you would on a stand alone system. You can then create a shortcut
on the local workstations pointing to the installation on the
server.

Professional Tax Archive requires a network drive to be mapped.
It will not be possible to run the program over a network without a
mapped network drive letter. If you are in any doubt please contact
